Formed after massive earthquakes hit the region in the early 1800s, Reelfoot Lake State Park contains the largest natural lake in Tennessee. At 15,000 acres, the flooded forest lake is a haven for fishers who can catch bass, crappie and catfish then retire for the night at the 20-room Airpark Inn or the park's campground. Other attractions at the park include the R.C. Donaldson Memorial Museum, which records the natural and cultural history of the region, wintertime bald eagle bus tours and summertime pontoon boat cruises. The lake is located in the extreme northwestern corner of Tennessee near Tiptonville, just miles from the Missouri and Kentucky state lines.
Open year round.
Free entry. Overnight and tour rates vary.
